ATI-WD ed: After Restore, Disk is Unallocated - No Restore?

Thread needs solution

I backed up my laptop (WinXP/Ubuntu 3 partitions & MBR) a Toshiba Satellite S-114, with a Celeron processor and WD 250 GB drive, using Acronis WD edition.

After strange things were happening - I did a Restore.

Afterward, Would not Boot, so used Boot Repair and an Error stated - something about PAE non campatible. So I used my System Rescue CD and noted the drive was showing "unallocated". So it seems that Acronis WD ed. is not working?!?!? In addition, when running Acronis WD ed. when I browse for Backup, system beeps everytime I hit any key, making it extremely difficult to browse or find a backup.

What is going on and HOW can I recover my Dual Boot System with Acronis ? ? ?

Any ideas or clues?

Thanks,
Clueless ....

Hello S R,

thank you for your posting!

The error message about PAE most likely means that your processor is relatively old and doesn't support PAE.

All current Acronis Linux media require this function.

As a workaround you can create a WinPE-based bootable media if your product version includs this option.

Thank you.
