I Want to restore a vista backup on D drive, the backup already taken and validated from another PC for the same Hardware,

It is restored successfully without any problems,

The problem is i can't select the OS that i want to log in.

I've tried to edit the file boot.ini but it doesn't work.

1) do you need to have the boot selector or you simply need to boot from D drive?
2) c,d,e are DISKS or PARTITIONS?

Hello Hussam and Emanuele!

Thank you for opening the thread and bringing this question up.

I assume by "C, D, and E drives" you mean not hard drives but partition. In this case we will need to create dual-boot system. I would advise you to take a look at these instructions as well as at these ones - you may find them useful and succeed in building dual-boot system.

You can use our Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 for setting Dual Boot System as well, but this will be a paid solution. Anyway if you are interested, I would advise you to take a look at the chapter 7 in the User's Guide for more details regarding setting the dual boot system. Acronis Disk Director allows you to manage partitions (resize, merge, create, hide, etc.) as well and may be a useful tool. I would advise you to test the solution first to see how it works. You can find the demo version here. Please keep in mind that trial version has one limitation: you cannot confirm changes made.

Should C, D and E be separate hard drives you will need to enter BIOS on booting and choose the hard drive to boot from.

I would appreciate if you could kindly keep us posted regarding the case and let us know in case you have any additional questions or need any further assistance - we will be glad to help!

Thank you in advance for cooperation.
