How to connect to ftp server from bootable media

Thread needs solution

I am using Acronis True Image echo and created fresh bootable media but I can't see where i specify the ftp server, its username & password so I restore from the .tib file I know is there.

All I can see relating to ftp connections is the option to type in ftp://server/path/file.tib when i boot from the media and choose restore but where do i specify the username and password with permission to access the server

Hello Michael,

Thank you for your questions.

Let me help you. To restore from FTP server you need to type in its address in the corresponding field and press Enter. After that you'll be prompted for the credential to access FTP server.

If that credentials window didn't appear, please specify FTP server by its IP address.

Please reply to this thread if you have any additional questions.

Thank you.

Thanks for that

I also had to change the network settings before it would connect. If I use the Boot manager will the network settings I enter be saved for next time?

I was able to browse to the folder and see the individual .tib files but could not select the 1st in the sequence.

Does it take a while to cache the ftp files first?
I also checked the ftp server and it didn't have any open connections and acronis restore seems to have frozen now

Hello Michael,

Unfortunately, the network settings won't be saved when you operating from the bootable media..

Yes, it may take several minutes to complete the network checking, have you tried to wait for some time?

What happens when you select the first file?

Could you please let me know the build number of the product, which you can find in the Help -> About dialog (it should be a 3 or 4 digit number)?

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.
