Can a 2.5" SSD be cloned from a 2.5" HD with Acronis True Image 2013?
I read somewhere that and SSD cannot be cloned. For several years I have cloned my 2.5" hard disks from one HD to another. This has worked very well for me, and "saved the day" on a couple occasions.
Can a 500 GB hard disk be cloned to a 500 GB SSD? ( This is a generalized question not size-specific, I am just giving this is an example).
I do like the idea of switching to an SSD, what should I look for when purchasing a new SSD, I want to be sure it is cloning compatible. I want to be able to clone from a hard disk to an SSD and thereafter from an SSD to another SSD... ongoing.
Thanks in advance .

Shadowsports,
so, cloning from a HD to a SSD will not require the use of Acronis Universal Restore? (given that the drive hardware is different)
I'd like to restore a HD to an SSD but the SSD is smaller, though plenty big enough for the data on the HD- presumably during the restore, the disk values can be entered, or perhaps it's automatic?

PS: If I try to use the quote feature here, I end up with multiple copies of the quoted text, using the latest IE browser on a W8.1 system-- any suggestions as to why this happens? So, I don't use that feature.

Joseph,
You can supply your own quote syntax as below which work without issue.

If acronis determines the data can fit on the new smaller disk, it will perform the operation and adjust partition size automatically. However, you can resize partitions during a restore operation on the fly, but you must have a full disk image back up. We recommend this instead of cloning.
