Password request on a non-password protected share with B&R10

Thread needs solution

I installed B&R10 (last build) on a Windows 2008 R2. I have a NAS with a share open for everyone.
When i try to create my vault the software asks me for a password for the share, every thing i try it prompts me again for the password.

What can i do?

i have the same problem on Windows 7 x64

Hello Emanuele,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

1) If you have your NAS joined to a domain or workgroup, avoid using the top level domain extension .local; e.g. If your NAS is set to be joined to mydomain.local, then connect to your NAS and change it to Mydomain.

After changing the NAS setting, please refresh your DNS cache. to do so:

- Start-Run -> type in "cmd and press Enter;

- In the command prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns

2) Try to specify the IP adress of the NAS drive instead of the name in the path box.

3)  Please check that the NAS folder has the appropriate permissions. Please see this article for more information.

Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawlessly. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.

Thank you.
