Don't want a clone, just want an image...

Thread needs solution

New user...can't figure this out. Have used other image creation software in the past. I have a laptop 1TB HDD and I want to make an image on an external 1 TB HDD. I don't want a cloned hard drive...just an image I can use later if necessary. I can't figure out, from the menus, how this is done. Am I missing something? Thanks! RB

It's called "Backup".

Create full disk mode Backups, selecting the checkbox for the entire disk (not just individual partitions). That ensures that you have everything you need, and you won't need to understand how the disk is laid out with possible hidden partitions. A full disk mode Backup captures everything, and is the simplest, safest backup method.

Thank you tuttle...I did what you said. I was trying to use the software without reading the manual. All good! Happy Holidays!!
