Remote Linux Server with True Image Agent backup to a Enterprise Echo Windows Server Share.

Thread needs solution

Hi All,

This is probably a really easy fix but i am getting lost. Here is my setup.

Acronis True Image Enterprise Echo Server (build 8,353)

    Windows 2003 Standard  with SP2

Acronis True Image Management Console® (build 8,353)

    \\Operations\Backups   <Permissions for Operations\Administrators>

Virtual Machine

    RedHat Enterprise Linux 4U8 - 64 Bit

1. Log in as user root.

2. Copy AcronisTrueImageAgentLinuxEnterprise.i686 to desktop.

4. ./ AcronisTrueImageAgentLinuxEnterprise.i686

5. Follow the instructions and completed without issue.

ISSUE

When I connect to the remote Linux Server with True Image Agent installed, I need to log in with root user. Once connected, I get to backup location windows during the wizard, i chose smb://Operations/ can it does prompt for for anything. I then force type a name in like such smb://Operations/linux.tib and get an error after sometime saying the format or name is incorrect.

From the remote Linux Sever, i can connect to the Windows server via smb under the root user like such smb://Operations without issue. The user name is in the keyring as well and saved so this is not a server to server issue.

Anyways, is there something i need to get this working?

Hello Brad,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]

First of all, it is useless to use the full name if your share is password protected. You need to wait for the credentials prompt. If you don't get them using "smb://Operations/" syntax you can try mounting your network share using CIFS tools as a workaround.

Most probably the issue is related to the network setup.
