Acronis True Image Excho Workstatoion and Win 7
Can anyone tell me if there is an update to Acronis True Image Echo Workstation. I have downloaded build 8398 and Win 7 Ultimate x64 tells me it has been blocked due to incompatibilities with the OS.
This is the latest build and the all the software listing on the Win 7 KB is called other things like Home and 2010 etc.
Is this version going to be updated to work with Win 7 ( Ultimate ) x64 or do I have to buy an upgrade to one of the other packages... ( or downgrade bac to XP ).
Thanks

Hello John and bodgy!
Thank you for opening the thread and many thanks to bodgy for reasonable comment!
Dear John, I regret to inform you that officially Acronis True Image Echo Workstation doesn't support Windows 7, so we do not guarantee that it will get properly installed and will work stably. Should you face any difficulties with Acronis True Image Echo Workstation on Windows 7 - we won't be able to help you.
Acronis True Image Echo Workstation will not be updated to support Windows 7.
As bodgy already mentioned, Windows 7 is supported by Acronis Backup and Recovery only. In case you had a valid support agreement on the moment of release of the new version we will be able to provide you with the free upgrade.
Please keep in mind that currently we have 2 versions of Acronis Software: Standalone and Advanced. THey are similar in functions, the only difference is presence of remote control features and installation process. Advanced version allows you to manage remote machines, but requires the installation of License Server, where you upload all the licenses. This License Server is a component of the installation file and can be installed onto any machine with any OS. Please note that it should be available in the network even after the installation.
Standalone version doesn't require the License Server - you can simply add the license during the installation process, but it doesn't have any remote control features.
Also there is no separate installation file for Acronis Universal Restore - it is integrated into the installer of the main product, all you need is to enter the key (add to the License server, depends on the version you choose).
I would also advise you to test the solution first - to be sure that upgraded versions suits you well. Feel free to choose between Advanced and Standalone trial versions.
We have changed GUI and added some new functions, so you may find our User's and Installation Guides useful. In case you don't know how to start - feel free to check our Quick Start Guides (Advanced, Standalone).
Anyway I would appreciate if you could kindly contact me via PM regarding the upgarde question - I think I will be able to help you with it.
Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
Thank you!
