Hi,

The backups are all running normally but I am unable to run any form of inventory even just a bar code scan. All the back ups are completing without error. This is the only error I get:-

Command 'Fast inventory' has failed.

The HP library tools confirm everything is working ok and I can run all the inventory's without problem from the tape drive itself. This isnt an issue until I need to replace a tape then I wont be able to update the pool properly.

mine is the same...someone told me it was where the backup did not span to the next media...i need to know how to set it up to span multiple tapes while backing up also...

Yes, backup can span to several tape. You have a library wih cahnger so tapes will be managed automatiacally when free space on tape is over.

Did you try to run Detect hardware before inventory?
The error 'The system cannot find the file specified"" is from windows. This mean that that devices disappeared from OS.
There is no automatic detection of device change. Please run detect hardware. And then again full inventory.

The device is listed in device manager Ive removed and reinstalled it several times. Everything apart from inventory works. I can run an inventory on an individual tape but not on the whole library. Tape management shows the tape drive and changer all ok. I cant find any driver or hardware issue at all.
