Changing passwords on services
We need to reset our domain password that runs the Acronis Management Server Service and Acronis Web Server Services and on the client pc, Acronis Managed Machine Service.
When we change those passwords in AD, do we just need to change them on the
"Log On" on the service itself? Or are those passwords saved in the console at all? From what I have read it seems like we just need to change it on the services but from what I am told they tried this before and it didn't quite work right after the change.
We are running Acronis Backup Advanced (Version 11.5 Update 5), build 11.5.39029

Thanks, that's what we thought but wanted to make sure it didn't reference that password somewhere else.

So we changed the acronisagentservice password and it successfully changed on all the client PCs, however the backup failed over the weekend and the account was locked out. We set up the backup plan using that same account. Is there somewhere we need to change the password in the plan as well? Or just log into the console with the new password to cache it?
It would be great if we could automate the update like we do on the services on the client PCs, but if we need to do it manually after a change that could be worked out.

By default, backup plan is launched with Acronis service credentials. Looks like you specified the credentials explicitly in the Plan parameters -> Plan's credentials. In this case yes, you have to change the password in the backup plan too.
But it was not necessary to setup the credentials for backup plan because you already specify your own account for service.
You can choose Use Acronis service credentials in the plan's settings and in case when the password for service will be changed again, backups will not fail.
Another issue that can occur relates to backup destination. If you performed backup to network share and provided credentials (your account) for access to it, backup can be failed because it cannot get acces to network share due to changed password. Need to choose the destination again and provide correct credentials.

You need to change password in all places in the plan where you specified it explicitly - for 'data to backup' if it is a network folder, for backup location, account used to run the plan (unless 'use service account' was selected).

It looks like changing the password manually on the backup plans worked. My last question, can those be updated via automation? We only have 4 plans now so it isn't huge to go in and change the password, but if there was a reg key or something we could update, that would be great.

You can edit backup plans - choose Use Acronis service credentials in the plan's credentials. When the password for service will be changed, backups will remain work. You will not need to change it manually.
