File I/O Error Stops Partition Image Backup

Thread needs solution

I'm running True Image Home 2010 under Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit version and backing up my partitions to an external USB hard drive. I label my backups "C Drive.tib," "D Drive.tib," etc. and run them manually each month. When I do so, I instruct True Image to save the image to the same file names and to write over the older data. Usually this works, but sometimes I get the "File I/O" dialog in the attachment. What is causing this and how can I get True Image to image the partition and save it to the file name used last month?

Hello TOActor,

Please accept our apologies for the difficulties you've experienced.

I'll do my best to help you.

Could you please do the following?

1. Please check the partition for errors:

Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd);

Enter the command:

chkdsk DISK: /r

where DISK is the partition letter you need to check. Please note, that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

2. If Step 1 does not solve the issue and you still have the error, please download SnapAPI drivers update, install it, reboot and check if the problem persists.

If the above workarounds didn't help you, please gather AcronisInfo utility output and submit a support request attaching collected information.

Please reply to this thread if there will be any additional questions.

Thank you.
