TI 2010 plus pack - no universal restore prompt

Thread needs solution

I performed 2 backups: one of the source system partition and of of the target system partition.

Booting the target pc using the standard Acronis bootable disk created after installing the plus pack I get the following result:

- trying to restore the target system partition I could prompt "universal restore"
- trying to restore the source system partition - as desired - I could NOT prompt "universal restore".

Any hint?

Thanks, Thomas

Erm, something may well be wrong, but then why would you need to use UR to hardware that is already working and had made the image in the first place?

It might be that UR recognises the disk signatures and assumes the source disk is in the same machine - thoughon second thoughts that would be a dangerous assumption to make.

I only did a backup of the target system to be able to recover this in case the universal restore of the source system on the target system does not work - and it did not work.

I just wanted to point out that following the general guideline of Acronis how to use TI 2010 plus pack for universal restore does not work - in the forum there is a comparable issue described using Backup & Restore 10 - Acronis states this to be a gui issue and solved it by a patch.
