Acronis True Image Server backups issues

Thread needs solution

We are using Acronis True Image Server® version 9.1 (build 3,920) to back up one of our servers. A little over a year ago we started getting a "network disconnected" error (0x70004). At first it only happened every once in a while but here lately it has started to get more and more frequent. So our first thought was that it may be a issue with a switch, so we replaced the switch with a brand new switch of the same type. No luck there. Then we thought for some reason the destination drive on the file server couldn't keep up with the transfer rate, so we went into the options of acronis true image server and turned down hdd writing speed, and the network connection speed. No luck there either. We tried to send the backups to a different server, but that didn't work. We also tried sending them to an external esata drive, and that didn't work either. Finally after going over a week with no backups, we decided to just delete the backup job and create a new one. This worked, but unfortunately it's not a permanent fix. After about a week it starts failing again with the same 'network disconnected" error.

here is one of the failed log files:

Any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello Damion,

I will help you to resolve this situation.

According to the symptoms you described it appears that product fails to access the network location for some time. It's not related to the particular switch. It can be caused by some inconstant network dropouts. So first thing I'd recommend you to try - another shared folder \ NAS drive as the destination. I assume that product won't fail if you save the image to an internal drive (without network) but please try to do so, if possible.

It would be useful if you collect PCAP logs according to this article. It has to be collected only in case when you're able to reproduce the issue.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

Ok, I will try to send the backups to our NAS drive next time I get that error. Which if the pattern continues should be some time next week. I will also try the wireshark download. I'll post here with the results.

Hello Damion,
