Comparison of TI 2014 & TI 2015?

Thread needs solution

I have just discovered that Acronis 15 is out.
But nowhere on the Acronis website does there seem to be a "proper" comparison between TI 15 and TU 14.
The Acronis 15 user guide says "Improved user interface—Product usability was improved, based on customer feedback. This includes a shortcut menu added to the backup list, contextual pop-up messages, and merging the License and Account sections."

And, on the main page, http://www.acronis.com/en-eu/personal/pc-backup/ the diagram of the "New, intuitive interface" is not linked to anything!

There seems to be nothing else on the web site!

I found this page: https://kb.acronis.com/ati2015/faq (48326: Acronis True Image 2015: FAQ) but it is just as useless. "All it gives is marketing hype: "Completely new design - design and usability of Acronis True Image 2015 were completely reworked to improve and simplify the user experience."

And I tried searching this forum to no effect.

So where can one find this Improved user interface and see what has been changed?

I find it incredible how user unfriendly Acronis continues to be!

I would recommend using a trial version if possible. That will allow you to do some hands-on with the interface and evaluate the performance.

I regret upgrading the product. There are fewer options on the interface. For example, there is no option for viewing the logs. I run backups to a NAS over a wireless router to another building about 150' away. The time it takes to validate a 500 GB backup increased from 30 hours (2014 version) to 8 days (yes 8 days for the 2015 version!). You no longer have the option to 'validation only the first version.' That means I'm stuck with archiving 1 validated version and then starting a new series of backups that do not run validation. I'm going to have to run an underground network cable or find a program that performs better over wireless. The present situation of week-long validations isn't a workable option.

The program has crashed at least three times in the last 6 months. The only way to restart the program after it crashes is to uninstall\reinstall. After the reinstall, you can add your backups from the archive but the archive copy of the backup doesn't retain the settings. The backups have to be reconfigured before they run. I run four different backups and taking the time to reconfigure the backups is aggravating. I think the problem is related to a nonstop backup.

I have been using a Seagate version of Acronis for a couple of years now (excellent options and performance) but couldn't get it install on my new windows 8 computer so I downloaded a trial version of TI 2014. I was very pleased with the user interface and the performance of the 2014 version; the 3-5 hours to backup 500GB and 30 hours for validation) was 'do-able' for me. Right at the end of the trial period the 2015 version launched so I purchased the 2015. I'm going to contact Acronis and see if they will let me downgrade to the 2014 version which, for my setup, was a far more robust and useful version. Another user on the forum commented that 'newer versions of program rarely give you fewer options and poorer performance.' That is certainly my experience with TI 2014 and TI 2015. I have been running the program for about 6 months thinking that updates will restore lost functionality and improve performance but I don't see that happening.

Just my thoughts on the issue. Good luck
