Disk Director and Solid State disks

Thread needs solution

I have just recently purchase a Dell Lattitude Z 600, which has solid state disk drives (there is no room in there for regular ones, amazingly thin). I created a boot CD from director, so that I could take an image of the hard drive before the Dell install package opened itself up (I have done this on every computer I have purchased in the last 10 years).

However, Disk Director simply does not see the two solid state disks. I tried plugging in a USB drive, and it does see that (as C:). But, I really need to have Disk Director see those solid state drives, the reason I bought two is so that I could keep complete, bootable backups, and that means I have to be able to copy the partitions completely.

The version I am using is: Acronis Disk Director Suite® version 10.0 (build 2,160)

I do not know if the partitions on the solid state drives are NTFS or if they made them GUID. The OS is Windows 7

Walter:

Have you tried running Disk Director in "Safe" mode from the boot CD?

Another possibility is to download the latest bootable ISO file from the Acronis web site by logging into your account and going to the "Downloads" area.

Hello Walter and K0LO,

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

Acronis products support Solid State Drives (SSDs). Using Acronis products you can perform the same operations with SSDs as with regular hard disk drives.

Walter, I have sent you a Private Message with a download link to the special ISO image. This new image is based on an alternate bootloader and has a different hardware drivers set implemented. Please burn this ISO image to a CD, boot off it and check if your SSD drives will be detected.

Please reply to this thread if the issue is not fixed, I'll be glad to assist you further.

Thank you.

Ilya,

I too could use the special ISO image based on an alternate bootloader and has a different hardware drivers set implemented.

Thanks,

Jerry
