TI 2010 Home Boot Disk Reboots Does Not Load

Thread needs solution

I have a new Dell E6500 and when I run the boot disk that I made from TI 2010 I get to the boot screen but after selecting TI 2010 Home it starts to load and then the laptop restarts. I read that this is caused by new hardware that Linux does not support yet. Has this been fixed, can I try a different .iso boot disk?

Thanks in advance.

You can try downloading the ISOLINUX version from your account (if you registered you software). Or, if you have the Plus Pack, you could try a WinPE disk described here http://forum.acronis.com/forum/9449

I have the 2009 version which does not work on Windows 7. So I downloaded the trial of 2010 but dont want to purchase it unless it will work for me.

Thank you for that link. My issue is a little different. I have no problem running the software in Windows. My problem is with the recovery media not booting into the recovery console. I tried booting with my old 2009 disk with similar results. It seems like Dell is using hardware that is not fully supported by the Linux kernel, at least not yet.

That sounds exactly like my issue. It also looks like there is a new .iso file available but as a trial user I cant download it.

Not sure where to go next unless I buy the software and hope it works.

I'm holding out hope that Acronis tech support actually *bought* one of these laptops with it's funky OEM partitions on it and the upcoming release will work with it.

But I'm not holding my breath about it.

Hello all,

First of all please accept our profound apologies for the difficulties you've experienced.

I'd like to inform you that we've just released a new build #7046 where we've addressed the issue with a bootable CD crash.

So please download the latest build from your account on our web site, install it, create a new bootable media and check if the issue still persists.

Please reply to this thread if the problem still exists.

Thank you.
