Error Deploying Image

Thread needs solution

We created an image, which seemed fine (i.e. no errors were reported) but when I went to restore it via Snap Deploy, I noticed it was looking for a file with a .tib extension. The image file I created is 24.5 GB in size so something is there but it had no extension at all. I added a .tib extension to it but as soon as I try to restore it, I get a the following msg:

E00770021: Deploying operations is not finished successfully.
Failed to restore image to target...

Has anyone even seen this or know of a way to check if the image file is truly invalid?

Hello Alan!

We're glad to welcome you on Acronis Forum! Thank you for finding time to share your concerns with us.

I'd like to help you with the issue faced, but we will need some additional information.

  1. Exact sequence of steps performed before you faced this issue
  2. Screenshot of the backup location
  3. Acronis Info
  4. Please zip and send us the following log files that reside on the computer you have OS deploy Server component installed on
    - Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\FileServer\Logs (in Windows Vista/2008 it is ProgramData\FileServer\Logs)
    - Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\DeployServer\ (in Windows Vista/208 it is ProgramData\DeployServer\)

I'd also like to inform you that there is an ability to check the image after its creation:

  1. You can enable image validation to be performed right after its creation. In order to do it you need to enable "validate image upon operation completion" option. Please check chapter 7.5.3 p. 50 in the User's Guide
  2. Image can be also checked at any time, but for this you need to have Acronis Management Agent installed.
Acronis Snap Deploy Management Agent is a component that takes an image of the master system in Windows environment under the administrator’s control through the Acronis Snap Deploy Management Console. The administrator can also manage files and execute applications on a remote computer using Acronis Snap Deploy Management Agent. Please note that its installation requires a license key.
Should you have it installed, you will be able to perform image validation through connecting to it and browsing the archive. See chapter 8, page 51.

I would appreciate if you could kindly keep us posted regarding the case so that we could provide you with further asisstance if required. I will also wait for the diagnostic information from you. Please don't hesitate to let us know in case something seems confusing or you have any further questions.

Thank you!
