TI 2014 update build from 6673 to 6688

Thread needs solution

Currently using True Image 2014 Premium build 6673. Acronis website shows that latest build is 6688. In Acronis I've checked under the Help icon>Check for updates and receive a notice that I've got the latest version installed. I've tried downloading the latest build manually and installing but it is shown as a Trial version and will not let me install as a "New Version" (per update instructions in knowledge base).

Appreciate any help on getting the latest build installed.

Thanks for the reply and link. It explained why the Check for updates option was not showing build 6688. I was able to get the right version of build 6688 downloaded but it doesn't seem like there is any reason for me to update to 6688.

I'm not tech savvy enough to fully decipher what the Universal Restore tool would actually be used for. Would it be necessary to use it if for instance I had a failure of my system SSD, replaced it with a new SSD and then wanted to restore to the new SSD? All other hardware would be the same.

I have not used Universal Restore and know very little about it. I believe it is used when you are trying to restore to dissimilar hardware.

As David Henderson said Universal Restore is only need for a restore to dissimilar hardware. Changing the hard drive is not dissimilar a new mother board is.

OK, thanks for the clarifications. Confirms my opinion that I don't really need to update from build 6673 to 6688.
