True Image won't start - error "detected unsupported hard drives.."

Thread needs solution

I have a new HP Pavilion laptop (dv6-2713us) with Win 7 64 bit. True Image 2009 Home worked fine on my earlier Pavilion; I'm trying to copy over my data drive. The old Pavilion was Vista 32 bit.
Installation of True Image went ok; I chose to download the most recent updates. However, when I try to open True Image I get the following:
<<<<
Error
Acronis True Image Home has detected unsupported hard disk drives.
Acronis True Image Home does not support Windows Dynamic Disks, EZ-Drives, etc.
>>>>

There is literally nothing connected to this laptop other than what was on it as purchased. I have partitioned the hard drive so as to have a data drive and one other empty partition. FWIW my old Pavilion had similar partitions.

What is going on?

Hello Bruce,

I'll definitely help you with the issue but first of all I need some additional information from you.

Could you please gather AcronisInfo tool output and attach the created file to your reply to this thread?

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

Hello Bruce,

Thank you for the provided information.

According to the report, you have Windows Dynamic Disks configured. Unfortunately, Acronis True Image 2009 Home does not support dynamic disks or disks with GUID partition tables (GPT).

Such disk are only supported in Acronis Backup&Recovery 10 product line or in Acronis True Image Home 2010 with Plus Pack add-on. Please check this KB article for the details.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thank you.
