Update to 11.5.43909 - Server 2003 - Now all backups fail.
Server used to have Version 38774 installed.
Two types of backups were performed - Full drive backups (Grandfather-Father-Son) and Exchange (Full + Logs).
Now when I run the existing jobs, the FULL disk backup pauses forever at 9 percent - and no data gets written - after 10 hours I cancel it - and repeat again same.
I have tried rebooting - same result - I have tried starting stopping exchange services (all of them) and still same (just in case that VSS writer was an issue)
Since I have to STOP the job there is no clear error message from Acronis (that I know how to access, there might be text log files in it's folder for example)
With Exchange only job there is a specific error mentioned. I will post it at the end of this message.
System Specs: 32 Bit Server 2003 SBS with SP2 and all updates (both exchange and SBS and O/S)
RAM: 4 Gigs
Drives: RAID array on and Intel server motherboard - SRCSASRB controller.
Drive format: NTFS of course.

Again these backups worked on same system the night before backup with Version 38774 and failed next night with version 43909.
Downgrade you say? Is 43909 not better in many ways listed in the "List of Changes"? Does it claim to NOT be compatible with Server 2003? If not then lets get it working.

Can VSS snapshot be successfully created outside Acronis Backup? Please follow this guide to troubleshoot the problem and let me know the result.

I will try those tests - I have not read it yet but assume they refer to NTBACKUP.
However I will state again beforehand - the day prior to install all varieties of backup worked with older version and post update install it did not...so IF it does not function with "alternate test of VSS" backup then we can only conclude that In-that-event update install broke something.

43909 was released on 3-2 and now I don;t even see it as an option to download in the "LIST OF CHANGES" page for previous versions of Acronis...Hmmm...I wonder WHY?
43916 was released 9-Mar-2015 - hmm 3-2 release followed by 3-9 release....pondering....pondering...

The list of fixed issues for 43916 does not include the one I'm experiencing but perhaps it does fix it.

Well downloaded yet another 1.9 gig of data and installed with a few glitches along the way ("...so and so exe is using a file Acronis needs to update", "mms.exe has crashed do you want to report it") but it finished.
Ran the backup with no apparent issues - so 43909 WAS the culprit - but now I must explain to my client how I must bill them for my time to resolve Acronis releasing a glitchy update.
