DR method for Acronis Server itself

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have a single VMWare VM that I'm using for:
- Management Server
- Licensing Server
- Storage Node
- Hosting the Dedupe DB

Backup data (managed vault) is accessed via smb, physically residing on a different file server.

The management server VM gets backed up using Veeam, so if it somehow is corrupted or blows up it is easy to restore.

BUT - if the server fails while client backup operations are in progress, or has a corrupted Dedupe DB, are there any special considerations when recovering the server itself? Will a server VM restored from an earlier date still be able to access the deduped backup data in the remotely-stored vault?

Hello,

In this scenario, the archive data on your Storage Node VM can be out of synch with backup data in your remotely-stored vault, which can cause various issues.

I would recommend detaching and re-attaching your vault, which will reindex the necessary data. Please be aware that, depending on the state and size of the dedupe DB, this operation can take some time.
