Windows cannot start up after upgrade to True image 2015 build 6525

Thread needs solution

Hi,

My dell laptop cannot go into Windows after upgrade true image 2012 to 2015. True image 2015 is working fine after upgrade. But Windows cannot start up after PC restart. I can see "Staring windows" screen at the beginning, followed by a flashing blue screen. Then system will go to black screen page saying Windows not start normally last time. I choose "Launch windows startup repair", and it fails to help, but just provides option to Restore the system.

Windows version: Windows 7 Professional SP1, 32-bit
True image 2012: Update 2.1 build 7133
True image 2015: build 6525

Thanks a lot in advance!

Recommend uninstall and reinstall of TI 2015 product. The attached link provides details for this procedure:

Thanks for your reply. But it seems the method in the link is only valid if windows can start up.
For my case, my PC cannot start up. If I restore to a saved point, then windows is OK but True image will become 2012 again.
So do I need to uninstall true image 2012 in this case? Thanks!

Yes here is a link for uninstalling TI 2012:

After you uninstall TI 2012 then install TI 2015 fresh, not as an upgrade. That should fix your issue.

Thanks for your help! What I bought is TI2015 upgrade which is only applicable for users who have previous TI software.
I am not sure if I am able to install the so called "TI upgrade" exe file directly without TI2012. Anyway, I will try it out.

Hi @Enchantech,
I followed your instruction to uninstall TI2012 and then install TI2015.
It works fine so far. I have restarted PC a few times.
Thanks again!
