Trouble of smtp settings.

Thread needs solution

Trouble of changing smtp settings.

Thank you all who check my topics.

I have a problem.

Since our mail server had been changed, we change the smtp server address of backup plan.
The test mail was sent successfully and I got the mail.
However, actually the backup plan works well, mail sending is failed.

According to the log, it seems the smtp server is old one.
The event codes are 0x01350003+0x014F0020+0x014F000F.

I changed the mail settings of backup plan and computer option.

Please give me your advice.

Best regards

Hi glee99,

If test e-mail notification works but regular e-mail notifications about backups fail, most probably you are testing email notification from Acronis Management Server, however the backup e-mail notification are sent from Acronis agents installed on the managed machines and the mechanism of mailing is a little bit different. Please check the troubleshooting steps from this article. I would also suggest testing Gmail SMTP server. If notifications are sent seccessfully via Gmail SMTP server, then the issue is likely related to your SMTP server.

Thank you!

Thank you for your reply , Ekaterina.

I am not sure what is Management Server.
According to the help menu, the program I use is Agent(build 11.0.17318)

I wonder why the ex-mail server information still remains on the log.

I guess one possiblity.
I access the server which is installed the Acronis via RDP.

Should I change the mail setting by not RDP but directly?

Hi glee99,

I don't think, that RDP could make the difference. I would suggest validating the SMTP-settings as described in the following article. Try to leave the User name and Password fileds blank when configuring e-mail notifications in the backup plan. This article will also help you to configure the smtp-settings properly. Make sure you are not trying to send an e-mail from an anonymous user to an external e-mail address - most SMTP servers ban this.

Thank you!

Try to change a schedule in the plan and save it. Changing some of setting did not force recreation of tasks in this build, and old tasks contains the old smtp settings.

Hi Fedor.

You are right!

When I changed the schedule and save it, I got the report mail.

Thank you so much!
