Failure to recover after reinstallation

Thread needs solution

I have un-installed Acronis TrueImage2015 and re-installed it from AcronisTrueImage2015_web_en-EU.exe. After re-boot, when I launch it, the Windows error message "Acronis True Image Home has stopped working" appears and the the Acronis problem report window appears to which I cannot write. The only way of escape is to clear down the Windows error message and I am then back to square one. Something is remembering a previous problem even after re-installation or else the program is failing to work properly after re-installation. Any ideas how to fix it?

Uninstall the product again and then run the cleanup utility which I am providing a link for below. Be sure to follow all steps when using the cleanup utility including those outlined for clearing the Windows Registry. After that reinstall the product and post back your results.

Thank you.
I did all of that and was then able to activate Acronis 2015 and run a backup.
I then set up a new backup. It would not run. While trying to find out what was wrong, Acronis crashed and I was back at square one - a Windows error message plus an Acronis report window from which I can only escape by closure and which reappears when I launch Acronis again.
When I have time I will try again.

Recommend that you check your disks for errors using chkdsk from an admin command prompt. Run the check on all drives and all partitions on dach disk. For partitions that do not have drive letters assigned you can use Windows Disk Management to temporarily assign drive letters to such partitions to run the tests then remove those letters once test is complete. Tests of C: drive will required the machine to reboot so when that warning pops choose OK. Command syntax is - chkdsk DISK (C:) where DISK is the drive letter without the parenthesis.

Post back results. See the link below for details on chkdsk.

Facts:
I checked my C drive and my data drives earlier and have now done so again - no problems were discovered.
I have now uninstalled and reinstalled Acronis True Image 2015 again, I have re-created two backup schemes and checked that both run without errors.
In Control Panel - Troubleshooting - Change Settings I have set Computer Maintenance to Off. I believe that this will prevent the Windows error message appearing when a program crashes.
Opinions:
Any uninstall option provided with a program should do the job thoroughly; it should not be necessary to run some other clean-up program in order to ensure successful operation after re-installation.
It would have saved me a lot of trouble if the program had possessed a 'repair' option like many of my other applications. All such options which I have used have left all my user data and settings intact. In this program I would then have been saved the hassle of reconfiguring all of my backups after recovery.
The causes of the crashes are not clear. Nor is it clear whether my inability to relaunch the program after a crash was due to Windows memory of the previous crash or whether the program was irretrievably damaged and crashed again when relaunched.
Crashes can be caused by bugs in the software, by computer malfunction or by lack of protection against inappropriate user action. I have a suspicion that my most recent crash may have been the last of these because of what I was doing at the time. If so, then nothing that I did should have been allowed to crash the program and certainly not to damage it.
My recent experiences have severely shaken my confidence in this program, they have already caused me to install alternative backup capability. I would rather live with the 'devil I know' but it is imperative that any disaster recovery scheme be reliable and if I have any more problems like this I will abandon it.
Thanks again for your help.
