Acronis backups failing after OS successful restore
I back my OS Windows 7 64bit to an external eSata HD labelled X; I back up my data D: Documents to an external eSata HD labelled L:
On June 2 I had to restore my OS using the latest backup on X: dated 5-12-15. Since the restore Acronis 2015 is not working correctly. What is happening is when I execute a data backup from my D: date partition to L: the back up runs and validates. Then I get and error window. as follows:
Failed to exclusively access back up X: I am not backing up D: to X:
\Document\My Documents_(D)_full_b36_s1_v1.tib during consolidation. Make sure the backup file is not opened in other application
My Docs have never been backed up to X:
After that message Acronis keeps running in the background. And then shows me another failed backup window.
I cleared the Script and Database files in Program Data/Acronis/Trueimage and made new back up programs. Still the problem exist.
Acronis has not solved this for me.

Thank you for the response. That backup to X never existed.

You stated previously that you have an OS backup to drive X. That is the backup I refer to. That is not so? I understand that the problem happens when you are backing up to drive L, my point is that the application seems to think that the backup to X needs to be completed as well probably due to a failed attempt at that. So if you can clear up that problem things should start working again.

Spent hours on the phone today with Acronis $PPI support to no avail. They did a Task Zap to the program settings. Then ran a schedmgr.exe program along side running an OS backup. I'm sill waiting for their response to reading the log. The backup ran and then hiccuped on the validate twice. So frustrating being in the middle of several critical projects when I can' trust a back up.
Any other thoughts.

Have you considered doing the backups and validation when booted from the user creatged TI Recvoery CD.
