System crashes with backup in True Image 2014
Hi.
I'm having problems with True Image 2014 Premium. Since I cloned my C drive onto an SSD drive, the backup used my old system drive as its source and I only found out when I had to reinstall Windows 8.1 because of failure to install updates. So I reset true Image to start a new backup from the SSD 'C' drive but now when True Image starts it's timed weekly backup it freezes the computer. I've removed and reinstalled the software 3 times but the problem continues to occur. Task manager performance tab shows 100% disc C activity but no transfer of data and I have to switch off the machine to clear it and uninstall True Image immediately on reboot before it starts trying to perform a backup.
I'm running W8.1 Pro 64-bit with Crucial 240gb SSD C drive and 32gB RAM on an Asus Maximus VII Ranger MB. I've disabled all other programmes and run in 'safe mode' but the problem persists.
Any help gratefully received.
Thanks.
Chris.

There have been reports of Crucial SSD's freezing on some systems. There is a new snapapi module that reportedly solves that problem. As far as I know that module must be requested via PM (Private Message) to Anna Trifonova.

What MVP Enchantech has said is also true... the controllers/FW combinations used in these drives have proved problematic for some.

Hi
Apologies for the late response, I'm also having trouble with my BT Hub! But thanks very much to Enchantech and shadowsports for the replies.
It does seem that the problem has arisen since I cloned to the Crucial SSD as Acronis does not seem to recognise the drive or if it does, it freezes the system. I shall contact Anna Trifinova direct to see if she can help.
Again, many thanks.
Chris.

Hi Chris,
You may want to consider a 2 prong approach. Please ensure you have updated the crucial drive's FW to latest available.

Hi
I've checked and already have the latest firmware (MU05) but have sent a PM to Anna.
Thanks.
Chris.
