Backing up NAS drive with True Image 2015

Thread needs solution

The documentation is a little unclear as to whether True Image 2015 allows me to backup my NAS drive TO another drive. I keep a lot of media on my NAS drive and want the ability to automate backups of this data.

Thanks in advance for any insight that you may be able to offer.

Hi themurries,

Yes, it's possible. For more information please refer to the following article.

Thank you,

You can in theory backup the content of CIFS/SMB shares of a network using ATI running on a Windows computer. This feature doesn't work for me though to obscure reasons.
I am backing up my NAS using iDrive online service. Synology supports more expensive backup options like Amazon Glacier and S3 natively. They also support cloud sync with OneDrive, GoogleDrive and a couple of others.

A good way to backup the content of a NAS is simply to copy the content to a USB drive regularly and take the USB drive offsite.

themurries,

You do not say what brand, model of NAS drive as you put that you have. There are any number options to accomplish your desired goal but without details of your device, network, connectivity, etc., it is impossible to provide a clear answer. This is exactly the reason that NAS backup in True Image is supported for folder/file level only. There are simply to many configurations of networks/devices to support anything further.
