[SOLVED] AMS Unmanaged vault: Retention periods not applied

Thread needs solution

Hello,

Acronis version 11.5.32308. All retention plans created together with the backup tasks. A daily, weekly, monthly and yearly backups exist for every machine.

in the current setup we have a lot of machines which save weekly full backups to a Unmanaged vault (NAS).
We noticed that some Full backups are stored longer than their retention period (60 days).

Running the Replication/Cleanup (1st location) tasks does not yield any result, no files are deleted. As this is an unmanaged vault, I see no way of accessing the share via Acronis console so to be able to delete the old backups through the Acronis interface (and not risking of deleting any necessary data).

These are Full backups so there shouldn't be any dependencies, correct?

How can I cleanup the expired backups?

Thx
Luka

Hi Luka,

Thank you for this question! First of all I would suggest updating the software to the latest build, 32308 is a rather old one. Then check that the backups, which cannot be deleted with the clean up task, actually were created within the same backup plan. If they were created with some other plan - you should either run the clean up task from the respective plan or delete backups manually in the vault view. If nothing helps, please check logs right after the execution of the clean up task.

Thank you,

Hello Ekaterina,

The due backups were eventually deleted. Guess it just needed some more time,

Thanks for the quick reply, bye

Luka
