How to do the windows equivalent of a "system image"?

Thread needs solution

True Image 2014, the version that came with a Crucial SSD. Two questions

1. Maybe it's just language but I can't see how to do the equivalent of a Win 7 System Image. Is this possible, advisable?

2. My existing drive is 2TB of which I am only using about 800 gig. I got a 1TB SSD and I was going to clone it but TI doesn't want to let me clone to a drive smaller than the original. Is it possible to do that?

TIA

Review my signature link 2A below. It shows how to to perform a "disk image" which will include all partitions and include everything on the disk.

Here is the user manual for 2014 on cloning.

Is your Win7 disk partitioned as GPT or MBR?

A 1T only has about 930 usable. You may need to free up some additional free space before it will work.
Some users have reported changing the partition size on the source disk to match that of the target disk before doing the cloning or restore.
You can search for some of the past posting regarding your questions.

Yes, you can either clone or restore a backup onto the 1T and it "should" work but either function should be done when bootted from the TI Recovery CD. My signature link 3 may be of assistance, Item 1 and 2 inside that link are relevant.

Perhaps some other volunteer can be of more assistance to your question on cloning.

Bob,
In answer to question 1:
To do a Windows backup you run C:\Windows\System32\sdclt.exe as an administrator.
