ABR10 loading and version issue with burned bootable CD
Product native bootable media
Build: #11639 Size: 53.79 MB
Date: April 13, 2010
I burned the ISO CD from this release. During the boot process the following messages appear on the screen:
Loading please wait
/bin/ipwatchd:error while loading shared libraries libpcap.so.0.8: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory
no raid disk
Reading all physical volumes
This may take a while
Does acronis have to correct this problem?
Does it impact the use of the recovery CD?
Once loaded the help screen shows ABR10 agent for linux build 10.0.11345 but the download site states 11639. Is this a problem?
Thanks

Hello,
I had an old version of the bootable media and when I tried to boot, I got the same error regarding libpcap.so.0.8, but in my case, nothing happens after that message. So I downloaded the latest image and burned it, but when I try to boot, I only get the message telling that the application is loading, with the Acronis logo on the top left corner, but nothing more happens, no cd activity.
Any ideas about this ?
Thanks for your reply and have a good day.

Hello Laurent Protti,
Thank you for your post. I will definitely assist you with this.
If I am not mistaken, you are using True Image 2010 Home. Please make sure you have downloaded the latest bootable media from your account, build 7046. Try to boot from it the following way. As soon as you see the words - Starting Acronis Loader, press the F11 key. You will get a pop-up saying - QUIET. Delete that word and press OK.
You will see some text loading, when it stops, press Enter until you get the # prompt. In this prompt type: /bin/product and press enter.
If all works well, you should successfully get into our bootable media graphical interface. If this solution fails, please submit a support request with the following information and ask our engineers to escalate it to our Expert team.
1. System Report.
2. If possible, photographs of any errors or text that you get after you try booting after deleting the word QUIET from the pop-up, after pressing ENTER. Otherwise, describe what happens in as much detail as possible, this will greatly help us to create a custom media for you.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you.

Hello, I tried your procedure with the latest version (I also tested it with my old version, but the result was the same), and I get the following error :
hda: DMA timeout retry
hda: timeout waiting for DMA
hda: DMA timeout: status=oxc0 (busy)
hda: possibly failed opcode: 0xa0
I'll submit a support request.
thanks for your help and have a good day.

Hi Anton
I am already in contact with you with ticket "11446: Acronis Image Home 2010 stopped working" on same PC.
Like I told you I was able to do once an Acronis Image (Now it doesn't work anymore).
On the same machine I also have that problem: "libpcap.so.0.8" is missing. So I am not able to start Acronis emergency CD as well.
The boot failes and Windows 7 PRO starts afterwards.
You want me do the same work you described here on "Fri, 2010-04-30 10:52" ?

Hello Guido!
Thank you for your comment and for sharing your experience with us! I'm sure Anton is working on the issue with the backup, meanwhile I will be glad to help you with the bootable media problem.
There are several reasons for this issue, but I assume that it was caused by the glitch in the scheduler.
In order to solve it please try downloading the latest bootable media from your account. Burn the downloaded ISO to the CD and try booting from it.
Should the issue persist - let me know, we will try another solution before proceeding with investigation.
Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
Thank you!
