destination unavailable (network path)

Thread needs solution

Hey,

I have a problem with making a backup to a network location... When i make the scheduled backup, the first time works fine. After a reboot i get the message: destination unavailable. This stays even after a reboot. The only thing that helps is setting the destination again (to the same place on the network as before) and then its fine again... until i reboot, then the thing starts all over again and i have to set the destination again.

My setup:
Mac book with OS X 10.10.3
Acronis version: 1.0.6680
Network:
Mac book with Acronis on it -> WiFi -> router -> network cable -> Mac Mini -> USB storage

I also have Acronis on the Mac Mini but i don't have problems there... probably because the destination isn't on the network but directly connected via USB

I also have this problem when i connect my Mac book using a network cable so its not likely that its a problem with the Acronis service starting before WiFi is connected...

Thanks,
Sander

Hello Sander,

could you please specify:
What kind of share you use: SMB or AFP?
How do you mount the share?

Could you please gather Acronis System Report two times:
1) when share is available in Acronis True Image
2) when it is shown as not available?

For gathering Acronis System Report please refer to the article https://kb.acronis.com/content/47211 (please send system report to me directly in a PM).
Or you can just send Feedback two times (with enabled checkbox 'Attach system report') and please put the link to this forum thread in the description.

Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,

Hello!
Sander, thank you for the provided information.

As I can see from the provided system reports, the share is not mounted at that time, when you see 'Destination unavailable' in Acronis True Image console.
In fact it is available of course, but actually not mounted. Unfortunately the application does not automount shares at the moment, it just uses mounted by OS X shares.
I suppose, Acronis True Image will show the share as available, if you will open this share via Finder (in this case it will be mounted by OS X).

This is a known issue.
Your feedback has been reported to the program and UX managers, we appreciate it very much and will do our best to fix this issue as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Kind regards,
