help, please.
The installation for windows 10 failed. Some glitch with Microsoft not related to my system. I restored the image from 7-2-2015. I started within windows 8.1 and successfully restored. Apparently Acronis began to do an unscheduled backup creating a vol2 additional tib file. I did not initiate this one. It completed... Leaving an addition file in the original folder. See pic attached.
The first is dated 7-02 and the next 7-30, today... but residing in the same directory as the first.
Can I delete the later file... has the first been altered by the appended file or should I ignore the first and trust that acronis will only deal with the first.

The first file was a full backup with no scheduled backup, a stand alone in its own folder.
I restored and after restoration, the program on its own started a full backup placing the new file in the earlier folder next the the older one and proceeded to make a similar backup.
I deleted the backup from within the program and both were erased. I believe that the same thing happened the last restoration. However I am careful to make each a full standalone with no scheduling. and clicked make default. No Idea why the program is compelled to append the original in its local folder.

Hi,
There must be a task. Its not possible for the program to create and run BUs on its own?

The first was a stand alone full backup with no scheduled task.
Restore of the file began in windows. I checked restart computer if necessary but saw no subsequent task. I'll open restore and see if something was checked but in past I've never had a backup schedule a backup. Only on completion of restore does this happen. perhaps something in restore is defaulted to append a backup. Notice that the two backups are of similar size. I'll look when home. thx.

I went though all the settings backups are Custom full with no schedule, stand alone.
I see nothing in the restoration section that would trigger a backup after restore completes.
If anyone has an idea of why or a possible setting I'd appreciate it.
the second backup ran in the background. It was joined at the hip with the first and when I deleted it from within the program, I
do no believe there was a way to separate them. They seemed to both be full backups. The second backup up what was restored by the
first. I think this happened the last time and an acronis tech helped me run it... at least till rebook.
Thanks for any help.

68030: create automatic backup after restore
I just found the above post. Same issue and it seems unresolved.
I'll look again at the settings they talk about. They may be hiding in plain site :)

One other question. what is the green check mark on some backups and also between the source and destination dialogues?
