can't mount image

Thread needs solution

In many years of using ABR I have not had this problem before.

I'r running AcronisBackupAdvanced_11.5_43994_en-US on our Thinkpad Carbon X1 Window 10 Pro x64. Our daily backups are all "successful".

I want to retrieve a file, to I try to mount an image and cannot. The attached screenshot of the Acronis popup should say it all.

I'm pretty sure the backup files are just fine.  For example, using Windows File Explorer, I clicked on the backup file I wanted, entered the requested password, and found and copied the files I wanted to my desktop.

I would have preferred mounting the backup .TIB file, so I could get around easily under Cygwin (a Unix shell) and tar up the directories I wanted.

Mounting just does not work under the current ABR and Win10.  I never have created Vaults, just accessed local D: folders in which I place nightly backups.  I have not read anything online to suggest that Acronis has changed the code so that a Vault is required, as suggested in a support chat.
