How Do I Tell If My Bootable Media Has Universal Restore ?
I have just purchased and setup Backup & Recovery 10.11639 Workstation Standalone with Universal Restore. The Universal Restore installed correctly onto the pc's hard disk and shows up in the "Help" -> "About".
I created bootable media that was Linux based from the program, but there is no indication that it has the Universal Restore feature.
I also built a BartPE Disk with the program following the steps in KnowledgeBase article 2753, (yes I ran export_license.bat to pickup the license for universal restore), and also no indication that there is Universal Restore.
How do I get Universal Restore onto the bootable Linux media and my BartPE disc.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you Anton.
There is no paragraph displayed in my version 11639 like it is in your 11105.
Everything from "Using a media... TO ... dissimilar hardware functionality." is absent on my program.
I cleaned out all of my Acronis products with the cleanup utility and then reinstalled Backup & Recovery Workstation Standalone with Universal Restore. Then I remade the Linux Bootable CD adding Driver Files to try to force the Universal Restore option onto it. During the creation process it showed the driver files that were to be added. But after creation I ran the Linux disc and there is no indication anywhere that it has Universal Restore in it. I also re-ran the batch file in WinPE and copied the new set of files over to my BartPE directories and re-made the BartPE disc. Again, no indication that Universal Restore was present in the program. How do I verify that it is there on the Linux and BartPE discs or not ?

Hello PutItInReverseAnd,
Thank you for getting back to me.
The screenshot that I showed is from our Knowledge Base article. I am sorry if it threw you off, but the interface has not changed in the latest build. However, I will ask our KB team to update it.
To make sure that your bootable media and BartPE has Acronis Universal Restore, during the recovery process in the Recover data wizard, you will see the Universal Restore option after you have selected your image. Please check the image attached to my post.
There are occasional cases when our software does not prompt for Acronis Universal Restore, for such cases we have this troubleshooting guide.
If none of my suggestions helped, in my opinion the best way to get this resolved, would be to contact our support and ask for a remote desktop session, so that we can resolve any issues that you may have.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you.

Hello, I've got the same problem. If I run Acronis Bootable Media Builder it tells me Universal Restore is not installed (see Dump1.jpg), but I have Universal Restore on all our machines and the license server indicates that this is the case. If I go to Add Remove Programs in Control Panel it also shows that Universal Restore is installed (see Dump2.jpg). If I create the boot disk I know that Universal Restore is definitely not included as all the virtual machines I have tried to create with it fail to boot. What do I do now?

Hello John Sellars,
Thank you for posting, I will definitely help you with this.
I would really appreciate if you can provide additional information about your Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 setup. Is this a clean installation or an update from 11345->11639?
Try to uninstall the following component: Bootable Components and Media builder. Install it again and see if the issue persists.
Most likely this issue is caused by our bootable components not updating properly. If re-installing the media builder does not resolve the issue, please use our clean-up utility and try to install our software again. You can also check this thread, where we have a similar discussion going and it appears that the clean up utility resolved the issue.
As a temporary workaround, please download the bootable CD from your Acronis web-account.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.

Hello Anton,
I can confirm that this is a clean installation as I haven't tried to upgrade to 11639 yet. I've uninstalled the Bootable Components and Media Builder and before I reinstalled it I ran the AcronisUniversalRestore.msi so that I could be sure that this component was definitely installed. As expected I got a message recognising that Universal Restore was installed - I was asked if I wanted to perform a repair or delete the program (see dump3.jpg). I selected the Repair option to be sure it was there. I then reinstalled the Media Builder and tried to create a boot disk. Unfortunately this just showed that my boot disk would not have Universal Restore available.
I'll try the clean-up utility and see how I get on with that. Regards.

Hi. Same problem here with a clean installation. In control panel>installed programs it's possible to see that Universal Restore is installed, but building a bootable media (Linux based), Universal Restore is not present. I can't yet download the .iso file from my Acronis account because it's not yet avaiable in italian language (as my version is). Thanks
Update: I found the new version of the isofile, updated in my language version, but after have burned it into a cd (linux environment), it says to me: init not found. I think I have to give drivers for my hdd controller and, that means that I must create a personalized iso image, inserting drivers manually. That's what I did, but still Universal Restore is not present with Linux version and with bootable media created in BartPE 3.0 environment.
Anyway, it'd be strange to work if the Universal Restore component is not present in the initial screen tutorial (as shown in the image posted from Mr. Anton). I made all the things suggested here and i have the same problems of the other users who posted here (it means that: I made a clean installation, I exported the license.bat file, i extracted every installation file and run again the Universal Restore file to be sure that it's installed after all the others.
No way. So, undoubtly there is a problem somewhere.

Hello Stefano Steno,
Thank you for your post. I will certainly assist you with resolving this issue.
I am very sorry for the inconvenience, we are aware of this issue with the Italian bootable CD which can be downloaded from Acronis web-accounts. As a temporary workaround, I will send you a PM with a download link for the English version.
As for the main issue, where you are not prompted for Acronis Universal Restore during the bootable CD creation, the best way to resolve it is to contact our support directly, since you have tried all the workarounds for this.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
