BUG - Acronis Secure Zone on my computer

Thread needs solution

I created a ASZ and i do backup on it.
On my computer there is the ASZ icon, but if double click on it is empty.
What's the use of this icon ? Shouldn't I see the backup images ?

Had the same on three of my computers. ASZ appears in File Explorer but cannot be expanded / viewed. Build 5518 resolved this problem on ONE computer while the problem still pertains to the other two.

This sounds like a file filter hasn't replaced itself properly. Perhaps checking if Snapman.sys or if all TI services are running. Maybe a repair install will solve the problem.

Colin, just quickly checking on the (one) machine that does expand ASZ in File Explorer. In Services, there is no snapman.sys and I find
- mmsminisrv (Acronis Managed Machine Service Mini)
- afcdpsrv (Acronis Nonstop Backup Service) [not employing NBS, can I stop this?]
- AcrSch2Svc (Acronis Scheduler2 Service)
- syncagentsrv (Acronis Sync Agent Service) [not employing this, can I stop it?]
Are these "ALL" TI services?

Yes they are.

syncagent I think you can, but Cloud probably won't work anymore.

afcdpsrv - I'm not sure, I think at one time this interacted with another part of TI.

You can always set it to stopped and see if TI still functions part from your SZ problem of course.

Just checked with one of the machines, where ASZ does not unfold. Again, all four services running here (no snapman.sys either), so this cannot be the reason.

I think it is more likely to be a filters entry in registry. Did you check in registry for the snapman path?

Do you use a 3rd party file manager on any of the PCs that have the problem?

Have you tried a repair install of TI on those machines?

Nope, no 3rd party file manager. Repair install: Would be last resort, I'm somewhat hesitant about these things. Registry I will check later. Thanks anyway!

In the registry I find snapman on the "good" (ASZ expanding) and on one "bad" (ASZ not expanding) PC (third not checked yet). See attached screenshot, which applies to both locations, i.e. ControlSet001 and CurrentControlSet in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Difference is key "GROUP" which exists in "good" registry only.

Seems to be SOLVED with Build 5576. ASZ is accessible and expanding on all my computers (Acronis TI 2016, Windows 10). Thanks!

That's a pitty, Fabrizio.. I had opened a Support Ticket and just had it closed, as for me everything seems to be ok. This version is very new, so you should still be within the 30 days of free support. Go ahead and contact support!

A new version release is out today, update and see if it is now fixed.

The issue with the backups not being visible in Acronis Secure Zone is a known one.
It will be fixed in one of the next updates.
