[BUG] Sluggish UI when adding files and folders - Unusable

Thread needs solution

Program: TI2016.5518
OS: Windows 10 x64 Pro
Computer: HP Z440 Workstation
Graphic card: MSI GTX 980 with 355.60 driver
Backup type: Files and folders
Backup from: Internal drives (SSD´s)
Backup to: Internal drive (7200 rpm)

If i create a new "Files and folders" backup and start to select files on one (1) drive the UI feels snappy. If i select or deselect a file/folder the result is instant.

If i now start to add files from more drives after a while the UI becomes sluggish and selecting a file/folder takes several seconds from the time i click it to actually be selected. I see the same slugginesh if i de-select a file/folder. If i click the + sign to the left of a drive/folder to see it´s subfolders it takes seconds before i see the subfolders. During this time the UI struggles to redraw and sometimes i just see the first one or two letters of the name of the folders followed by dots, such as "Fo..." instead of "Folder".

I have eight internal drives and the drives i target different files and folders for backup are all SSD´s.

I make "Files and folders" backup on all files and folders on my D drive and then a couple of file and folders with small sized files here and there. The estimated backup size reported by TI2016 is 1.6 GB.

I targeted the very same files and folders during the beta of TI2016 and did not notice this behaviour in earlier betas.

This is a deal braker and a restart (warm or cold) of the computer does not solve the problem. I do not see this is TI2014 on the same computer, targeting the same files and folders and with the same graphic driver.

Hi Roger,
we expect a new build to be published very soon. As soon as you get update notification, please perform an update. If it doesn't improve the situation, we'll need to start an investigation.
Thank you,

O.k!

For the moment i am back on TI2014 due to the UI of TI2016, among other issues with TI2016. I may install TI2016 on my laptop for testing purposes.

I really hope some fundamental features from TI2014 will be brought back to either TI2016 or TIFuture, such as having an option to add data and time from the UI on TI2016 instead of todays hacking script files. The UI is really an issue in TI2016.

The new build did not improve this. (#5586)

I just did and did send them a screen recording as well of the issue. I hope this will be solved quick since selecting one (1) file can take minutes.
