Using ABR10 with VISTA

Hello,

Sorry for my English, but I'm french.

We have purchased ABR10 Advanced worksation, I install it on Vista 32 pro SP2.

When Vista starts, ELEVATION_APP.EXE nedds an UAC confirmation and Windows Defender has blocked the Monitor for ABR10 Archive Explorer.

But the real problem is :

When  I want to log on the local machine with the management console I have the following message :

Impossible de se connecter à "localhost"

Code 5 242 881 (0x500001)

Module c:\program Files\acronis\backupandrecovery\mmc.exe

message : echec de la récupération du paramètre 'Windows name'

Code 1 311 722 (0x1403EA)

Message : 'CoCreateInstance' pour 'CLSIF_WbemLocator' a échoué.

Code 65 520 (0xFFF0)

Message : Accès refusé.

I tried to install ABR10 on XP PRO SP2 and it works fine.

I don't knwo what to do to use ABR10.

What is the build of the program you are using? Please make sure that you are using the latest build of Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 Advanced Workstation. If the build number differs from the latest one, please download and install the latest build. I am sending the installation file of the latest build via PMs.

And just to be sure:

Have you installed the Management console and the Agent on the same Vista computer?

I think I have the latest build. I downloaded it the 20/07/2009 and the build number is 10273.

Yes, I have installed the Management console and the Agent on the same computer with Vista.

And the licence server on a XP computer. I don't know if it is important.

I've received your private message.  Please let us know the results.

This forum is an open source resourse, and I should clarify that the latest build of the French version of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 is build #11105. This build is available for downloading under your account.

Thank you for the clarification!

As far as I see, you're unable to use our program because of connection failure. Have you installed Agent to the same PC you want to manage?

Also, there are two more possible causes of this situation: either the wrong credentials were used to execute the task or  Acronis Service user "__acro_subst_user__"  was not added to the "Replace a process level token" policy during Agent installation, please check and apply solutions from this article.

Yes the Agent has been installed on the same PC I want to manage.

I have read the article you sent me and I have added __acro_subst_user__"  to the policy. but I have the problem with the same message when  I want to manage my PC.

Could you please try to connect to the Agent in the following way?

Please select Manage a remote computer option, specify the IP address of your computer and the credentials you use to log in to Windows. Let us know the results.

i've had the same problem with Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 and actually with build #11133 too!

Fehler:
Code: 5.242.881(0x500001)
Modul: C:\Program Files (x86)\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\mms.exe
Nachricht: Ein ungültiger Index ist entdeckt worden.

Alle on the same machine:
Windows SBS 2008

Backup tasks are running in background.

Most probably, the machine with the Acronis Agent to which you are trying to connect has corrupted WMI repository. One of the symptoms of a corrupted WMI is absence of information about the NICs under Network Adapters:

Windows System Information File -> System Summary -> Components -> Network Adapters

To resolve the issue please diagnose and troubleshoot WMI issues on the machine with the Acronis Agent. See:
