[solved] Server freezes while starting a backup with Acronis True Image Server 9.1
Hello,
I have a strange problem, I use Acronis True Image for one of our customerserver for about 2 Years and everything was fine. Since a week I got every morning a call that the server freezed. So I looked into the Log Files and saw that the last thing what the server was prepearing an Image the time it freezes. The last entry in the log says something like "lock drive C:", I'm using the german version of Acronis, there its called "Sperre Laufwerk C:". It happens also if I try to make a backup by hand. I already checked the harddrives with checkdisk but it doesn't help. There are no other Images Does anyone have a clou what this could be?

I am having the same problem on True Image Server 9.1. Initially, disabling Volume Shadow Copy seemed to fix it (about which I am not very happy), but this morning the freeze occurred again, occurring a few minutes after 2am when ATIS 9.1 kicks in for a nightly differential backup.
Not sure what's up with your recommendation on build numbers. My version of ATIS with Universal Restore is build 3920, which dates from May 2007. The oldest build available is 3677.
I've been using ATIS 9.1 since August 2007 without siginificant change to the system, and this freeze issue is both recent and unwanted. Please advise. My current version of snapapi is 3.1 build 329.

I completely share your concern and appreciate that you found time to contact us. Since it is highly possible that the issue was caused by some glitch in the SnapAPI drivers, I'm going to send you an update and would appreciate if you could kindly test this solution.

Hi Acronis,
I'm experiencing the same problem on Windows Server 2003 R2 running as a virtual server at a data center. I have updated to the latest build 3920, but it still freezes the server. Is it possible you could PM me the latest snapapi version to see if this fixes the fault?
Kind Regards,
David
