Windows 10 Acronis True Image 2015 opens but no Acronis GUI display

Thread needs solution

I restored a hard drive from an Acronis 2015 backup. Windows 10 that got restored is acting strange. It works most of the time, however on a restart it now takes 9 minutes to restart windows.
When I try to open Acronis 2015, it opens(because I can see it in the task manager) however it will not display in windows.
I tried uninstalling Acronis and reinstalling it and the same thing happens.
Not sure what to do at this point.

I am having a similar problem with Windows 8.1. I haven't restored a disk, just tried to open the GUI to check my backups but all I get is the UAC confirmation and an icon on the task bar which shows the GUI display but I cannot persuade it to display. I tried reinstalling and it gave the option to repair which I accepted but no result.

I haven't open the GUI for a while so I don't know when it stopped working. Maybe a Windows update caused the problem?

I reinstalled windows 10 keeping the applications and settings. Everything now works as it should.

Also found my display. It was on a second screen that I occasionally connect. Most applications detect that the second screen is not connected and display on the primary screen.
