Multiple copies of full backup created
Hi All
Hope you can shed some light on this one:
True image 11 with latest build. WINXP sp3
Please excuse my amateur status:
True image stopped incremental backups recently due to the external hard drive "filling up"
I deleted all backups and started again.....
The full back appeared to finish correctly. However when I went to check the state of the back up, it couldn't locate any!
Checking in windows explorer I find my external hard drive full again with 13 identical backups, each 4,194,304kb with a 4 minute spacing between each.
What did I do wrong and how do I correct it please?

Hello John!
Thank you for your comments and for keeping us posted.
Since you have FAT 32, the backup gets splitted to pieces of 4Gb (4,194,304kb = 4096 Mb = 4 Gb) space automatically due to Fat 32 restirction. You can try converting the drive to NTFS, which will resolve the splitting.
I would like to assist you with this case, but unfortunately due to the lack of diagnostic information it is difficult to say what was the cause. So could you please kindly do the following?
- Specify exact sequence of steps performed before you encountered this issue
- Specify exact error message
- Specify screenshot of the issue
- Start -> Run -> cmd -> chkdsk /f /r and reboot
- Obtain Acronis Info
After that please contact support directly with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify me the case number, and we will do our best to speed up the process.
Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
Thank you!

Dear Yana
Thanks for yor offer of help.....
Reference Step 1 & 3 "This issue"
Are we talking the issue of the 13 identical backups that I highlighted on the first post.
Or
The issue of the failure to convert to NTFS?

John, if the convert failed I'd suggest formatting the disk as NTFS. Backup any data first.

Hello John and Thomasjk!
Thank you for your comments!
Dear John, talking about the "issue" I meant problems with Acronis Software. Since conversion to the NTFS is a Windows problem we have nothing to do with it, we would like to check the one that you are reporting.
Meanwhile I would like to remind you that these are not 13 identical backup. It is one back up, splitted to 4 Gb pieces due to FAT32 restrictions it is impossible to save there one file, which size exceeds 4 Gb limitation.
Thank you!

Dear Yana
Thank you. I understand your point entirely. I think the way ahead at the moment is to ignore the Acronis issue and get my external hard-drive formatted to NTFS. Once this is done there will be (I hope) no further issue with True Image.
All I have to do is to sort out the Checkdisk and Convert problem. ....
I am pursuing this on another forum. As you say this is a Windows issue, not Acronis. Nontheless if there is anyone out there who would like to assist with this area, I will of course be very grateful.

The "Inconsistency" problem is probably not one worth going to the all the trouble of checking out. It will be easier to backup or copy off the files, reformat, then put the files back.
There are some probls that checkdisk won't detect -- e.g., case diffs between the filename and the metadata.

Whilst awaiting a resolution to the above problem on my external hard-drive, I decided to to do a full back up on an additional hard-drive. Don't worry this one IS NTFS! More problems......
Having successfully backed up I still get the warning on the Home page:
"System state warning : No backups have been created yet"
I checked the location of the back up and verified it successfully. Also restarted the computer. No joy.
Additionally on "Manage backup locations" It reports "No items to display"
I know this is technically a new topic. Should I start a new thread? I'm rather hoping someone out there will give me a quick fix....please??

Is this that yellow band alert on the ATI page? fuggetttttabowdit. It's telling you, actually, that no scheudled -by-tash backups have been completed, btw, if you were doing backups by scheudled task, you wouldn't even have ATI open to see this warning. IF the backup completed without errors, that's fine. If you're worried, you can run a validation from within ATI. But the warning band, fuggettttabowdit.
