Home Backup Plan
Hello,
I am considering Acronis True Image Cloud to backup my home computer. I want to have an image and access to individual files. My other machine is a Microsoft Surface Pro. In the event of a casualty I envision a need to access some of the first computers files from the Microsoft Surface machine. I assume this would require a Acronis True Image Cloud license for each machine.
Does this seem doable? Please feel free to comment and let me have your opinion of this set up.
Thanks.

Hello William,
I too gave a short (10 second) thought of using cloud based backup.
My only consideration was for a limited amount of data files and not my entire partition, whole disk or OS.
With the price of HDD being quite reasonable, I opted for one internal HDD in a hot swap tray and another HDD for storage off site or in a safe. Retrieval of a much needed backup image in event of disaster from the cloud just made me too nervous.
The bottom line here is that I opted for a safe local image storage procedure that can be recovered quickly and accurately in the event of a disaster. I just did not want to be at the mercy of a cloud storage company or the internet to recover my entire computer or a single file.
Just a thought.

I use Acronis Cloud and have recovered several computers from the Cloud with no problems. Before going to the Cloud I had onsite and offsite Acronis backups of multiple computers. It got to be too much hassle monitoring all of the backups. I now spend very little time monitoring backups. I can see if all of my computers have been backed up to the Cloud from the dashboard in Acronis 2016. Once a month I'll login to my remote location and check onsite backups.

Thanks for taking time to reply all. It gives me a better feel for using the software. I think I will try it for 30 days and see how it works.
