Snap Deploy 5 for Windows 10?
Is there an update coming soon to Snap Deploy 5 to make it work for Windows 10 images? Testing here showed that it "mostly worked" but did not change computer names or SIDs.

Thanks for the response. We'll be looking forward to that update.

Hi Carlos,
Windows 10 support in Acronis Snap Deploy 5 hasn't been implemented yet.
Thank you,

Anna,
My Snap Deploy 5 subscription renewal landed in my inbox this past Monday - is there any rough estimate when Win 10 compatibility is coming? This year? Q1'16? I need to make a decision and I'm not getting any info from anyone inside Acronis that's helpful. If we're looking 6 more months, I'll go back to Symantec. No reason to spend support dollars on a broken product for the environment that we're ready to deploy....
All,
I wasn't an Acronis customer around for the Windows 8/8.1 switch. How long did it take for compatibility to get written in there? or was that when Snap 5 was released?

Hi,
Support for Windows 10 is coming in the nearest update for Acronis Snap Deploy 5. We're now finalizing development tasks for this update and in any case we'll be pushing the release of it by the end of this year. Likely it will happen in November, but I can't say for sure at this moment.
Thank you.

I was able to create an image of Windows 10 but when I tried deploying it... Boom! Re-install...

Hi There
Do we have any update on this?
November is gone, you should be able to provide an estimate timeframe for the release of this update now as it was mentioned that it could possibly be released in november. I'm already able to deploy an image with windows 10 on the newest release but the individual settings (SID and Computer Name) are still not applied.

Gio

Hi Gio,
The release of Acronis Snap Deploy 5 update is at the final stage now and we're planning to make it public by the end of the year (the release candidate build is now passing our QA).
Also note concerning the SID change: we've researched the possibility of changing SID on Windows 10 and found that this change is no longer required. It even makes it worse: if you change SID on Windows 10 a lot of things will get broken, for example the Start button won't work anymore. Therefore we've tested joining Windows 10 to domain when deployed without SID change and also done some other tests to confirm that SID change is no longer required which is why this option is removed from the Acronis Snap Deploy options from GUI when deploying Windows 10 (for other OSes this option is still applicable).
Thank you.

Hi Vasily
Thank you very much for your specific answer! Ticket 02609658 can be closed.
I would like to test the releasecandidate as beta tester. can you approve that and send me a link to the file?
we're testing all possible scenarios in this moment as we're upgrading all our customer infrastructure clients to windows 10 in Q1-Q2 of 2016.
It might be good for you as well if you receive feedback outside your company.
best regards,
Gio
