Acronis 2014 full hangs at installation

Thread needs solution

I have tried 5 times to install the True Ageng 2014 Full that I just bought/downloaded and it always hangs during installation. I have disabled all scanning options in my Free AVG 2014 prior to all attempts.

The first attemps, the progress bar had stopped at around 60%. All other times, it just stops below 10%.

When I check in my Windows-7 Home process, it shows 0% activities on the installer. I think there was another process but it was also 0%.

I tried installing it in safe mode but it requires internet.

First question, is the full 2014 True Image version compatible with what I have ?
If yes, then how can I find out what the problem is and how to fix this ?

In the mean time, I will look around.

I tried to install ver. 2014 on my computer and it hangs at the unpacking stage, I have used this before with no problems? I am using win 10 home

2014 is not supported on Win 10. You will need TI 2015 or TI 2016.

Before giving up and moving on to a newer version, it might be worth downloading the TI 2014 install file again to make sure that the version you have isn't corrupted.  I did a clean install of Windows 10 Professional over the weekend, and TI 2014 installed and activated without an issue.  I was a bit surprised I was able to do this given the difficulties others have posted about in this forum when doing the same.  Since installing it, I've created back ups for my PC and NAS and done a full restore of the PC boot drive as a test.  Everything worked as it did under Windows 8.1.

Having said the above, I could potentially encounter "glitches" down the road due to the software not being compatible with Windows 10.  I'm okay with the risk as I have any critical data that I can't afford to lose copied to multiple external drives by other methods.  The most I would be out if I lost the system backup is the time required to reinstall Windows 10 and other software.  YMMV.
