Snap Deploy deletes external drive partitions when deploying

Thread needs solution

I have two different external drives I use to store my images on. One is a newer USB 3 500GB drive and the other is on older USB 2 500GB drive.

When I use Snap Deploy with either of these drives, after the system reboots I find that my partitions have been deleted. I have to use a partition tool to restore the drive after each use.

I have not any data but this is very annoying to have to deal with especially when deploying multiple machines.

Hello, Stephen

It is a known issue and our development team is working on it.

The issue happens because a USB HDD is detected as first.
Solution is to specify disk 2 in the deployment template settings.
To do so, open the deployment template settings and select the "Target disk layout" item. Then switch "Deploy to:" to "Disk number in BIOS" and set "2" to the field. Save settings. Disconnect unnecessary USB HDD from the target machine (only USB HDD with the master image you want to deploy should be connected to the machine) and deploy the image.

Best regards.
