ABR10 Adv. Workstation on W7 Enterprise 64bit BSOD

Thread needs solution

Hi there,

is there any known issue about ABR10 Adv. Workstation and 64bit Windows 7 RTM (Enterprise)? Im able to install it successfully, even a backup creation works perfectly.

But during the first reboot after setup the system crashes with a BSOD, and system recovery takes me back to where i was before. Eventlog doesnt show any helpful information.

Any ideas?

Greets, Dennis

I reproduced the BSOD on a second machine running 64bit W7 Ultimate, installing ABR10 Adv. Workstation build 11105. Seems to be the snapman.sys thing mentioned here:

Hello Dennis and pbcopter

Thank you for choosing Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.

If you faced the same BSOD as we can see here (I assumed that because you mentioned snapman.sys), it can be fixed by doing following:

- Boot into Safe Mode and remove contents of SnapAPI drivers according to this article

- Boot in Normal Mode (you should not see BSOD again) and install the latest build (11105) of our program. You can download all necessary files from update section in your account.

- DO NOT REBOOT YOUR PC AFTER INSTALL

-Install new version of SnapAPI 468

-Reboot your PC, you will not face BSOD.

Thank you.

Hi Alex,

this works nicely, no more BSODs. Will the new SnapAPI be included in a further ABR10 release? Its a little bit frustrating to tell customers with cardreaders about that snapman thing...

Sincerely,

Dennis

Hello Dennis,

Thank you for your response.

The new SnapAPI module will be included into the next released build of the program. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

Thank you.
