Very slow backup performance

Thread needs solution

Hi, I'm testing Acronis true image for mac 2015 version 1.0.5145.
My macbook pro retina has OSX 10.9.5, and I'm using an USB 3.0 external disk as backup destination.
The thing is that I cannot finish a backup in a decent amount of time.
I've started the backup on saturday 4th october and I've left my macbook switched on throughout the weekend. This evening the status bar stated a progress of 5% and the tib file was 30GB.
Before that test I tried it on friday during my working hours and the backup progress reached only a poor 3%.

I wouldn't buy such a product if the performance were like that.
Maybe it's my fault...

Thank you very much.

Same here with 2016.  I am using a GB connection to a NAS and it looks like the 150GB image will take about 8 hours.

Sloooow!

My desktop to the same NAS, using True Image 2016 is about 30 minutes

Hi Robin,

can you please clarify which operating system you are using Acronis True Image 2016 on? Do you have the latest program update?

Thank you,

Mirko Danzi,

I would suggest you install the 2016 version of True Image (since you mentioned you were using the 2015 release). See if this speeds up the process and if not, contact our Support Team that will need to analyze logs of the operation.

Robin Burrows,

First of all, please test the connection speed by transferring a big chunk of data to the same destination and see what the speed difference is between a normal transfer and the backup.

In each case the reason for the performance issues can be different, so please contact our Support Team that will help to pin down the possible cause.
