Archive corrupted
Anyone? Using full system partion bkup. Validates ok on Win. But gets Archive corrupted on revovery boot validation. Brand new PC, Dell XPS 8900, Win7 Pro, USB 3.0, Seagate USB 3.0 backup drives. Was doing the same on old PC. Thought problem may be old hardware (USB 2.0) but now the same on all new hardware. Losing confidence in Acronis at this point. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the info. I appreciate your reply. I think I see why you suggest re-install first. Setting up WinPE is time consuming. However, I created a WinPE boot DVD. It works, starts Acronis recovery OK but it appears to lack drivers for the USB drives. Major headache. Wondering if they improved the WinPE creation in the 2016 version?
Reason I didn't re-install is that this happens on both my old and new machines. Started on the old one after upgrade to ATI2015 and does the same on the new one with ATI2015, so I'm thinking it's probably not the installation but may try it anyway.

Al,
Have you activated "Acronis Startup Recovery Manager" ? If so, during boot up, you get an option to hit F11, which brings up the Linux version of ATI. You could do a F11 boot, and try to validate an existing backup and see if you get the same error message.
Sometimes, just activating the "Acronis Startup Recovery Manager" generates error messages. And these error messages are indication of a bad install.
Please let me know how things go.

I did activate the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager the first go-around and did not get any errors. I did not try to boot with it however. So I tried the F11 boot per your suggestion and it recognized my USB drive and validation was successful. I'll need to get a little more familiar with the different versions of the recovery system. Not sure why it didn't see my USB drive on the WinPE boot without F11?
So does this mean my non-WinPE recovery boot was no good, outdated?
In any case I intend to do some recovery testing to my older machine sometime soon and willl let you know what happens.
Thanks again for your help.

I believe something happened during the original creation of your boot disk.
Since your F11 test was successful, you might want to create a new boot disk, and give that a trial.
I am glad you had success with the F11 boot validation.
