Why "Convert to GPT" is not displayed for Disk4?

Thread needs solution

Hi.

I need to convert MBR to GPT but this option is not displayed for a disk I need to convert.

Why? And why a reason of option hide/disable is not shown?

Please see enclosed screenshot - I need Disk4 converted to GPT but DiskDirector 12.0.3223 is not showing "Convert to GPT" option for that disk and I cannot understand - why?!

Could you please help?

Btw, such hidden/disabled option without explained reason is quite a big problem for your software (and for any software actually). Could you please re-work this part of UI to provide user with understandable description on why certain action cannot be applied.

Regards.

Hello,

Please give some clarifications:

Which disk the currently running operating system is installed on?

And what about Disk 1, 2 and 3? Is the option "Convert to GPT" available if to highlight those disks?

One more question. Does you computer support UEFI?

Best regards.

Currently running system is installed and on DBO-SSD (disk 3). It is Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.

Also system (Windows 10) is installed on DBO-SSD2 (disk 4).

Yes, computer supports UEFI (as you can see disk 5 is GPT/UEFI). Computer is based on MSI Z87 MPOWER mainboard, CPU is Core i5-4570, latest BIOS is installed for mainboard.

"Convert to GPT" option is enabled for disk 2, also for disk 6 and 7 (6 and 7 are external USB HDD drives).

"Convert to MBR" option is enabled for disk 5.

So, "Convert to GPT/MBR" option is enabled for disk 2, 5, 6, 7. For all other disks this option is not shown at all. And I cannot understand - why is that?

It is difficult to understand what is wrong whith those disks.

You can try to update Acronis Disk Director to the latest build (3270).

If it does not help, I suggest you to contact our Support team

Best regards.

Hm... not sure if I want to pay $20 for support incident which is related but conceptual bugs in Acronis software. :-\

Of course, I will think if my experiece would cost that money but at first glance - I do not belive in Acronis support team!
