Acronis 2015 with EL Capitan
Hi,
Reading the previous two threads, can someone please confirm whether Acronis 2015 will restore under El Capitan or is the solution to upgrade to Acronis 2016.
Been using 2015 for less than 12 months and have not as yet had to recover my system with the Acronis image. Reluctant to have to upgrade so soon.
Would like an answer just in case disaster does strike.

Hi,
I understand the company line of trying to get customers to upgrade to the next version. As Ive had my present 2015 version less than 12 months I doubt thats going to happen. I don't use this program often enough to justify upgrading everytime a new OS comes out.
Surely someone out there using Acronis 2015 has tried restoring a backup? I would try restoring a backup myself before "disaster" strikes but am worried that in doing so I end up loosing my current setup.

Hi Tungsten,
It is most probably that the recovery will work as it has been tested with Public Beta of El Capitan.
The problem is that while Apple is updating its OS, we will not be implementing updates for the True Image Standard Edition.
Nonetheless, should you experience any problems with recovery, our Support Team will help you, since with all Acronis licenses you are covered with unlimited support regarding recovery issues.

Acronis 2015 no longer works with Mac OS X El Capitan.
History:...
Bought Acronis 2015 on 2015-07-06.
Installed Acronis in MAC Pro 13 and did backup to USB HD... OK
Created USB Bootable Media... OK... Was able to boot from USB Media and was able to restore from Acronis backup in USB HD
Updated to MAC to El Capitan in December 2015
Updated Acronis to version 1.0.6725...
Created USB Bootable Recovery Media...
Can boot from USB Recovery Media by holding OPTION key, but when it gets to the menu shown, selecting recovery from Acronis and clicking on Continue, the system hangs and does nothing.
Product on MAC now is useless with less than 7 months of usage. Have been long time user of the Acronis Windows version but now highly disppointed in the MAC OS X version that is no longer usable. I am unwilling to update/pay for the 2016 MAC version (if it resolves the issue) since have only used software for less than 7 months.
Please advise how to proceed...

Acronis True Image for Mac was tested with 'El Capitan Public Beta'... Wat about the release version of El Capitan?
My 2015 Mac version no longer works with EL Capitan with less than 7 months of use... For details, see other post I made on the subject.

My Mac Acronis 2015 True Image worked fine before updating MBP 13 to El Capitan and last released (1.0.6725) True Image.
Now USB Bottable Media created with V 1.0.6725 boots, but hangs when trying to restore from Acronis backup.
Had I kept my bootable media and backups before updating to El Capitan (from Yosemite), things would have worked OK. Even so, restoring from these maybe would restore back to Yosemite (not sure, but unwanted outcome).
Suggest to have another backup strategy, currently using Time Machine and SuperDuper! (free version) - for offsite backup - until this issue is resolved. Not being able to image restore when needed is a disaster of wasted time and data loss.
To make sure that Image Restore works when I use a new program like True Image, I backup to Time Machine, then to other program - like True Image - and actually perform an image and restore action to make sure that the non Time Machine program works as expected, if not, then I can restore from my Time Machine backup. BE CAREFULL DOING THIS because you can easily loose all your data, but is better to know that non Time Machine program works as expected before you actually need it...
Actually, I have already spent too much time troubleshooting this True Image issue with my setup, I'll consider other backup methods to supplement my Time Machine backups that work very well for me.

Just downloaded True Image and paid for 1 year subscription. How do I add my serial numbers from my computer and 3 phones? I get an error message that the numbers are not correct. Thanks, Ronda

This question seems off-topic for this thread. Anyway...
My 2016 download was for an upgrade from 2015. When I logged in with name/password, the new serial number was populated automatically. In some instances - when upgrading- you need to have the old and new SN .
Make sure that you type the SN correctly, better yet, copy/paste SN from your emailed receipt.
If these suggestions do not help you contact Acronis Support after reading the FAQs

Rafael
