Thread needs solution

Hi

Does ATI 2016 have the capability if sending a wake on lan magic packert to a NAS? If yes how do I set it up? If no is it in the pipeline for future revisions?

Cheers

True Image has the capability to wake the source computer in order to perform a scheduled backup task however, your hardware must support such functionality.  True image does not have the capability to awaken a secondary device via magic packet.  It would be possible to do so via a script file run on the source computer to the secondary device again your hardware would need to support this functionality.

As far as the True Image app performing/supporting such function in future releases I have no idea but I would not suspect that to be something offered.

Thanks Enchantech

I am aware that it wakes the source PC up and that works very well for me. In my circumstance, the "wake up" is to back up both my PC's to my NAS on a weekly basis. To Wake Up a network device to perform that task would seem like a logical progression given the proliforation of NAS and I'm surprised it's not on offer.

The problem with the script solution is when to run it. I guess I could schedule it but it's tending to over complicate things.

Thanks anyhow

Hello, Daylef.

True Image does not offer such functionality for the moment, but I have forwarded your suggestion to the development.

In the meantime you'll have to use a script or third-party tool for this, and schedule it to run before the backup (using Windows scheduler or pre-backup commands, for example).
